Exceptional Ofsted Inspection

Following Broughton High School’s Ofsted Inspection on 20th and 21st October 2026, our school has been judged Exceptional in all areas.

Ofsted advises that the ‘Exceptional’ grade will only be awarded on rare occasions, and only where “Practice is exceptional: of the highest standard nationally.  Other schools can learn from it.”  This is an outstanding achievement and a moment of immense pride for our entire school community.

The inspection was conducted under the new Ofsted framework, making this recognition particularly significant and a powerful endorsement of the quality of education, care, support and opportunities we provide for our pupils. Following their two-day inspection, Ofsted commented on the uniqueness of our school and highlighted the strengths seen across all evaluation areas. 

This exceptional outcome reflects the collective commitment, dedication and hard work of everyone involved in our school - our pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider school community.
