Year 9 Cricket - Lancashire Plate
On Wednesday last week, the Year 9 cricket team took on Archbishop in the Lancashire Plate. Despite it being a 16 over game, it came down to the last over to decide the winner. Archbishop batted first, scoring an impressive 115 without losing a wicket. This set Broughton a tough task for their innings, but one that they were ready to attack. Mason Church started strong, and retired after hitting some impressive sixes. This built a strong base for the likes of Joe Mitchell and Oscar Waterhouse to score freely and chase down the score.
It did however, get tight towards the end after a few wickets fell. Despite this, the Broughton team won the game with 4 balls to spare.
A fantastic team performance and we look forward to the next game.
