Year 7 Girl's Lancashire Cup Football

On Thursday, we travelled to Lathom High School to play in the first round of the Lancashire Cup.   From the whistle we were under immediate pressure from a very strong and well-drilled Lathom side and it wasn't long before Lathom got through our defensive line and had several shots on goal.  However, Willow Waite denied Lathom in the first half, making some incredible saves! Towards the end of the first half we started to find our feet and managed to break through Lathom's defence on a number of occasions to get some shots on target, but unfortunately all were saved by the goalkeeper.

In the second half we started strong and had some good possession putting Lathom under more pressure but after ten minutes they opened up the scoring and unfortunately got the better of us. Broughton didn't let their heads drop and battled until the very final whistle!
