U14 Girls’ Football – Lancashire Cup

On Wednesday, 28^th January, the U14 girls’ football team were finally back in action in the Lancashire Cup against St Michael’s. Broughton played some excellent football and were unfortunate to go down 1-0 against the run of play. St Michael’s doubled their lead quickly from an excellent long range shot, but Broughton responded with a goal from a lovely passage of play resulting in a good finish from Mia McLennan. Broughton were very much still in the game, playing the better football of the two teams, but struggled to take their chances. Just before the final whistle, St Michael’s scored again to make it 3-1 and knock Broughton out of the Lancashire Cup. An unfortunate result but well done to all the girls involved.
