U13’s Girls' Football – EFL Utilita Cup

On a cold, and frosty, Thursday 28th November, our U13 girls’ football team competed in the 7-a-side EFL Utilita Girls’ Cup. Broughton got off to a bright start and produced some great attacking play. Throughout the tournament, Broughton passed the ball around confidently, dominated in possession and created several goal scoring opportunities but unfortunately could not always convert them into goals. Broughton continued to work the ball up and down the pitch in every game, never giving up and keeping their heads held high.

Results below:
Broughton v Balshaws One – DREW 0-0
Broughton v St Cecilias – WON 6-0 (Goal Scorers: Megan x4, Niamh, Louisa)
Broughton v Archbishop – LOST 1-0
Broughton v Academy@Worden – WON 5-0 (Goal Scorers: Darcey x3, Louisa x2)
Broughton v Ashton – DREW 0-0
Broughton v Corpus Christi – WON 1-0 (Goal Scorer: Louisa)
Broughton v Balshaws Two – LOST 2-0

Semi Final
Broughton v Archbishop – LOST 1-0

Third-Place Playoff
Broughton v Balshaws Two – WON 1-0 (Goal Scorer: Niamh)

The team worked tirelessly to finish in 3rd place! The girls should be extremely proud of their performance in this high standard competition.

A massive well done to the whole team!
