Netball Years 9 & 10
The Year 9 and 10 netball teams visited Archbishop Temple on Monday 10th November. Temple have been one of the Broughton sides toughest rivals throughout lower school for both age groups. In the first match, the Year 10 team played with real determination to win the game, having never being able to beat Temple in Years 7-9. With a strong start, the Broughton team quickly took the lead and held on to it throughout the game. Not only did the Broughton team show physical domination on the court, but their tactical play was what allowed them to overturn the Temple centre pass many times.
The final score was 18-13. Player of the match was Orla Cox.
The Year 9 game was a much more challenging game with the Broughton side down 11-3 after the first half. With tactical changes and more positive attitude in the second half, the Year 9 Broughton started to claw back the score. In the second half, Broughton dominated the game, bringing the score line closer.
The final score was 19-12 to Temple. Player of the match was Daisy Wilson.
