U16 Girls Football -
On Wednesday 4th March, the girls’ U16 football team played against Archbishop Temple in the quarter finals of the Preston Cup. Temple took an early lead in the game when there was some confusion at the back for Broughton, and despite Broughton creating lots of chances down the other end, it was Temple who were more clinical in front of goal and scored again to make it 2-0. Amara Jenkins-Smith pulled one back with an excellent finish to make it 2-1 going into half time.
Broughton showed great determination and were rewarded for their persistence when Grace Lochhead made it 2-2 with 10 minutes to go. From then on, it was end-to-end with both teams fighting for the winner, but it was Broughton who found it once again through Grace Lochhead. Broughton will now face Our Lady's in the semi-finals. Well done to all involved for their excellent determination throughout.
