Broughton High School is delighted to announce that our Year 11 pupils have achieved record-breaking examination results this year, marking an extraordinary milestone in our 50th Anniversary year.
With a cohort of 182 pupils, this year’s results reflect the outstanding dedication, resilience, and ambition of our pupils throughout their five years at Broughton. The average grade across the year group was an impressive 5.91, representing a further increase on last year’s impressive outcomes.
Key highlights of this year’s results include:
- 77 pupils (42.3%) achieved Grades 9-7 in English
- 80 pupils (44.0%) achieved Grades 9-7 in Maths
- 166 pupils (91.2%) achieved Grades 9-4 in English
- 165 pupils (90.7%) achieved Grades 9-4 in Maths
- 154 pupils (85%) achieved five GCSE passes including English and Maths
- 42% of all grades achieved across all subjects were grades 9-7
These exceptional results are a reflection of the incredible hard work, determination, and commitment of our pupils, who have consistently demonstrated maturity and focus throughout their secondary school journey. Their excellent attendance, strong study habits, and drive to succeed have been truly inspirational.

SSAT Exceptional Educational Awards 2025
We were delighted to receive confirmation, in the Summer Term of 2025, that Broughton High School has achieved two strands of the SSAT ‘Exceptional Education’ awards, for accreditation of transforming practice in climate for learning and effective teaching approaches. Broughton High School has met the highest standards of the Framework for Exceptional Education and our work in these areas is amongst the most effective practice nationally.
SSAT Educational Outcomes Awards 2024 - Progress & Attainment
Broughton High School has won two SSAT Educational Outcomes awards for being in the top 20% of schools nationally for student progress and in the top 10% of non-selective schools for student attainment in the 2024 end of KS4 exams. This is testament to all the hard work from every member of the team here at Broughton.
