Year 10 Introduction

Welcome to Year 10.

Year 10 is an exciting year at Broughton and one that is full of new experiences and opportunities. All pupils have started their exam courses with interest, enthusiasm and commitment. This is a time of great change for our pupils and the demands of their courses cannot be underestimated. The support and guidance that our pupils receive is second to none and ensuring that our pupils leave us at the end of year 11 as well rounded individuals is our main priority.

There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities for all pupils, including the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award scheme. There is also the annual visit to Cologne at Christmas, a visit to Paris in Spring and a music trip to Austria in the Summer. Our annual reward trip in the summer is always something for everybody to aim for and look forward to. Towards the end of Year 10 we appoint our Head and Deputy Head pupils, in addition to our team of Prefects for Year 11.

We are always thinking of the next steps after Broughton, and later in the year, we will be visited by all of our local colleges and there will be opportunities to attend taster sessions in the Summer term. In January, we will also have a focus on Apprenticeships involving assemblies and workshops.

The journey continues!
