Business

Business is an interesting, relevant and challenging subject which gives pupils the opportunity to run their own business and learn about enterprise, the economy and the workings of a business in the twenty-first century. The business facilities include a specialist room complete with ICT facilities which enable pupils to access the best learning.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning in Business

The department has a clear plan for what pupils should know and be able to do in Business by the end of KS4. Pupils are expected to be able to talk and write knowledgeably about business, enterprise and the economy, using subject specific language accurately and confidently. They should be able to utilise Business specific skills such as making links between different units of work; analyse, interpret and evaluate business case studies and understand financial information and language. Pupils must also have been given the opportunity to develop the employability skills required for life in the 21st Century.
